This month we are showcasing our beautiful Luxe Bride Tera and her husband John. Tera and John were married in September of 2023 at Ivory North Co in Mora MN in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by their friends and family! Here is their story including Tera’s journeys to becoming a Luxe Bride!

Tell us about your proposal!

We got engaged on May 28th, 2021, the same day our son was born!
John put a onesie on our son, Ezra Roman, that said "Mommy will you marry my daddy?" And he got down on one knee, we were together almost 10 years when he proposed.

Describe your bridal style and tell us about your dress shopping experience! Did you leave with the gown you envisioned yourself in, or something different?

Suzanne was fantastic to work with. I tried on so many dresses and was very indecisive. Dress shopping 2 months postpartum after having back to back kids wasn't how I dreamed the day would be. I was still getting used to my new body after having babies. Suzanne made me feel beautiful and comfortable though! I really had no idea what I envisioned my dress would be. All I knew is that my dress had to have sleeves! I also wasn't opposed to getting a black wedding dress (I almost did, actually!). I love boho vibes and it was the theme for our wedding and I found a few dresses that really fit that vibe, but I didn't feel beautiful in them and neither of them had sleeves. Suzanne really helped by giving me a visual of what dresses would look like with sleeves. I still didn't just love a dress though. I went out in the car and sat with my mom and called my best friend before making my final decision. I went with the ivory boho dress because that's the dress I could really see myself in once it had sleeves and I lost some of my baby weight. And I'm SOO glad I did. My seamstress nailed my vision.

Tell us more about your wedding. What was your theme and color scheme? What were your flowers? How did you make your wedding personal to your love story?

Our wedding day was everything I dreamed it would be. I planned the entire thing myself and I'm proud of that. We had a beautiful boho wedding. Our colors were very neutral with pops of terracotta and olive. I honestly don't know what our flowers were. I just let my florist go with it. We are huge Disney fans. Our bridal party walked down to the cello cover of Tale as Old as Time from Beauty and the Beast. We are also HUGE Friends fans so I walked down to the aisle to a slow acoustic version of I'll be there for you. Another fun thing we did was dance with our kids to the song "You've Got a Friend in Me" from Toy Story after our first dance.

What was the most special memory from the day?

My husband says his favorite memory of the day was when I put the ring on his finger during our ceremony. Honestly for me, the day was a complete blur. It really goes by so fast. My favorite memory was just the entire day, honestly. Finally, after almost 11 years this man was FINALLY my husband, and everyone we love the most was there to celebrate with us. I just loved celebrating our love.
