This month we are showcasing our beautiful Luxe Bride Amy and her husband AJ. Amy and AJ were married in December of 2023 in a private residence in Florida! Here is their story including Amy’s journey to becoming a Luxe Bride!

Tell us about your proposal!

We got engaged in Amsterdam in the English Garden at the Van Loon Museum on December 2nd of 2022. Neither of us cried, and I replied with a quick "Yes, please!" My sister, Carly, hired a photographer to capture the event, and then we took engagement photos around Amsterdam together! It was DREAMY! (We got married a year to the date of our engagement)

Describe your bridal style and tell us about your dress shopping experience! Did you leave with the gown you envisioned yourself in, or something different?

I was very unsure of what I wanted to wear to our wedding! I had thought about a formal gown, and also thought about something less formal. I started following the Luxe Bridal instagram after we planned a surprise appointment for one of my best friends, and saw a post of the gown I ended up choosing. I brought it in with the intention of trying it on and weeding out other styles. Once I put it on, I knew it was for me! We tried 5/6 other dresses, just to be sure I gave everything a chance, but ended up with what I envisioned myself in!

Tell us more about your wedding. What was your theme and color scheme? What were your flowers? How did you make your wedding personal to your love story?

We have a beautiful story - we met in 2015, and then reconnected in 2021 - 6 years in the making! When we started planning for our wedding, we knew we wanted it to feel a certain way. We wanted to create an event that was intimate, warm, and with a garden party vibe. We didn't have a theme, but knew we wanted brass accents, earth tones, and lots of greenery - and the white ranunculus! Our 60-person wedding was personalized in many ways - we spent the morning and day of the wedding together with all of our favorite people, had our favorite foods as our dinner and starters, and honored our guests in as many personal touches as we could.

What was the most special memory from the day?

Setting up with all of our close friends and family - it was no stress, casual, and full of joy and light. It really set the tone for the rest of the wedding day! We finished all of our portraits together prior to the ceremony, so we were able to be immensely present during cocktail hour and dinner, which was invaluable.
