This month we are showcasing our beautiful Luxe Bride Mycki and her husband Jarl. Mycki and Jarl were married in August of 2024 at the Mendakota Country Club! Here is their story including Mycki’s journey to becoming a Luxe Bride!

Tell us about your proposal!
Jarl proposed to me on February 12, 2023 on a trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. We were taking a walk down to the beach (that I did NOT want to do because I wanted mimosas by the pool), but he insisted we go. On the walk with us was my best friend and her husband, and Jarl's brother and his wife. He had us walk up this random hill under the palm trees to "look at a hut". Then I turned around and he was down on one knee. I had no idea it was coming as I thought he would have done it on our 2022 trip to Mexico. Guess he just needed the extra year!

Describe your bridal style and tell us about your dress shopping experience! Did you leave with the gown you envisioned yourself in, or something different?
My bridal style is classic. I wanted to feel beautiful and timeless, but also find something that accentuated my curves and sort of made a splash! I envisioned sparkle and flowy, however, I left with sparkle and a fitted dress. I never thought I would love a fitted gown, but it was the perfect fit and made me cry. I knew it was just for me!

Tell us more about your wedding. What was your theme and color scheme? What were your flowers? How did you make your wedding personal to your love story?
Just like us, our wedding was somewhat classic and simple. Easy-going I guess could be a good word to describe it. Our ceremony and reception were held at Mendakota Country Club and it was absolutely gorgeous. Our bridesmaids/groomsmaids wore burgundy, our groomsmen/bridesmen wore gray with the groom in a navy blue. It was a beautiful combination. My flowers were ivory roses, royal blue delphinium, white cremons and burgundy dahlias. It was the perfect combination. We made our wedding personal by just being us - we played tippy cup during our grand entrance, our unity ceremony was finalizing a lego altar, our ceremony had so much laughter... it was just "us".

What was the most special memory from the day?
How do you choose just one special memory? Every moment of the day was perfect - our special vows, our first dance, getting ready with our people, having all of our family and friends there to support us. Every single moment of the day was a special memory for us!
