This month we are showcasing not only one of Luxe’s brides but one of our amazing stylists Mandi! Mandi and Steve were married in October of 2022 at Loring Social in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by their friends and family. Here is their story including their simple and carefree wedding planning.

 Tell us about the proposal!

Steve proposed to me on Christmas Eve morning. I was just waking up (literally just opened my eyes) in our apartment and suddenly he was there at the end of our bed on one knee with a ring! We had talked about getting engaged and he had asked for my ring size so I knew it was coming but had no idea when. He wanted to catch me totally off guard and he did! It was such a special, joyful moment with just the two of us.

Describe your bridal style. How did you want to look on your wedding day? Tell us about your dress-shopping experience.

I didn’t feel like a typical bride and I wanted something that showed that and didn’t blend in or look like every other dress. I was feeling the pressure on the day of wedding dress shopping but my sister had gotten her dress at Luxe so I knew I was in great hands (this is before I started working at Luxe). When I tried on my dress I felt beautiful, special, confident, and regal. I knew it was the one.

Tell us more about your wedding. What was your theme and color scheme? How did you make your wedding personal to your love story?

We did a MinneWedding at Loring Social in Minneapolis on October 9, 2022. MinneWeddings is an all-inclusive small wedding planning company - perfect for keeping things simple and care-free. It was my nightmare to be worrying about the minutiae of wedding favors or centerpieces on the Big Day - I just wanted to get married, not be an event planner! Our color scheme was very autumnal: deep burgundy, mustard, peach, and burnt orange with gold and brass mixed in. Pumpkins were a part of the decor too, which I loved. We had champagne, Italian-themed small bites and a coffee bar - as well as cake. We didn’t have a wedding party, because we only had 50 people at the wedding and just wanted to keep it simple and let people wear what they wanted. The ceremony was brief and all about us. Our vows were hand-written and super personal.

What was the most special memory from the day?

Steve’s vows blew me away. He expressed his love and commitment so beautifully - I will never forget how he made me feel in that moment. Neither of us knew if we would ever get married so we spent the day in wonder that we found each other and that we have such wonderful friends and family to support us.
